The best way to describe this drink wold be "bracing." Whether it's the mint that hits you first, or the lemon juice, it packs a wallop.
The Greenback is just three ingredients: gin, creme de menthe, and the aforementioned lemon juice. It's a brilliant bright green in a rocks glass, and a decent combination of tart and sweet.
But the combination of mint and lemon juice is mediocre at best. There's just a little too much going on here. But if you need an eye-opener, this might do it.
Rating: Three glasses.
