This is almost a perfect drink: cold, creamy, minty. But...
It has gin.
Normally, that would put it over the top. And maybe with an average gin, it wouldn't be any big deal. But with the Hendrick's I'm currently rocking, the gin stood out quite a bit in this drink, even lingering after the mint.
But that's a very minor complaint. Like it's brother, the Brandy Alexander, the Alexander's Sister is a wonderfully decadent drink. Made with gin, creme de menthe, and cream, it comes out of the shaker looking like milk, a pure white that belies the mintiness. (Of course, it can be made with green creme de menthe, too, so that would give it away.)
The gin is just enough of a distraction to keep this from getting a 5-glass rating. Perhaps a version with brandy would hit that distinctive honor.
Rating: 4.5 glasses.
