If you had asked me to guess the recipe for this, I would have failed miserably.
Frozen strawberries? Makes sense. Maraschino liqueur? Didn't see that coming. Heavy cream? Nice, but not absolutely necessary. Lime juice? OK, that one I would have gotten, because all daiquiris take rum and lime juice.
As frozen drinks go, the strawberry daiquiri is pretty much an old standby, usually pumped out of machines at an alarming rate. This recipe yields a fairly sophisticated version, bursting with strawberry flavor, creamy and just a little bit tart.
Some would call this a pussy drink, and it's hard to argue. But it's also a fun summery drink that would work perfectly by the pool. Nothing wrong with that when it's 100 degrees.
